Flour will stop bleeding if you don't have anything else to use. But like Amiga says you need to wash the wounds really good so you can see how bad they are.

I am finding it really difficult to cut the feathers cause they're so thick... im currently using ordinary scissors... is there something else i should use?

Try nail clippers.

Disinfect them with alcohol first.

Do you have rubbing alcohol? Otherwise, detergent and hot hot hot water, dip in vinegar when done.

Rubbing alcohol not the kind you drink. or good old hot water and soap.

well i found some antibacterial disinfectent so ill just use that!

now when cutting through feathers you have to be careful not to cut into the quick or you'll have more bleeding. Just clip enough of the feather back so you can see the wound and are able to clean it out real good.

I don't have ducks, and I haven't got my chickens yet but when I saw this thread I just had to find out what happened,and if he was alright. your advice will stay with any one who reads this; and some day I may be able to help someone in return.Thank you.
