"It's perfectly fine." She said and smiled. "Here's Midnight." She said and showed him a fluffy, small fox with silkie red fur and a whitish belly. "Hello." She said nicely and looked at him. "And here's Velvet." She said, Velvet was not as fluffy and had more of grainy fur. She was speckled with black. She smiled at him.

Damon nodded to the pups and said, " Hello, Midnight and Velvet. It's a pleasure to meet both of you. You all have a wonderful home here."

(I would have put her as younger, but i forget Fox mating takes place in spring, so they are born in about summer, then by winter they are about 4-5-6 months old, originally she was like 2 months old when she first came, but that wouldn't happen, she would have had to be like 4 months old at the start of winter.

(She's about 5-6 months old.)

Nina stopped at their den, "My father brought home a stump one day, covered wit hsap, he covered it with heaps of dirt and leaves and he put it in front of our den every night, it kept predators out and it looked just like the ground." She said, gathering leaves up.

(Isn't that pretty young to know how to hunt easily and be able to drag a log?)

So thankful she explained it to him. He actively helped to put the leaves where she indicated. Pleased with the end result. Sebastian smiled at her with genuine pride of accomplishment.

Quote: (Foxes are weaned off of milk into meat around 2 months old, then their mothers bring live meat for them to kill, after that they leave and learn how to hunt for themselves, at around 3-4 months, when Nina got to the rest of the foxes, she had learned how to hunt, and for the stump, the stumps not that big, its just a tiny stump.)

Quote: Nina smiled, then with Sebastian's help she dragged it to the hole and put it in, it fit fairly well, it was a tight squeeze, but it just looked like leaves and dirt. "its just like i remember it!" She said excitedly, "Our den was always warm at night, I guess its because the log kept the warm air in, I don't know how we got new air in our den though..." She said thoughtfully.

(Just a little bit taken from a fox website. Red foxes have excellent hearing they can hear underground digging, gnawing or rustling of small mammels, once it has pinpointed the position of its prey, it will dig it up, that's what Nina did, Foxes are taught to do this very young, Nina learned almost everything she needed to know before her parents we're killed, foxes usually leave the parents at 7 months, Nina had to leave at 4, so she is fairly self sufficient already.)

(What other foxes are there? I forgot.
