"I'd love to go! But I have the pups to take care of, so I better stay." Ruby said. "Don't worry, I can watch over them while you're gone." Mary offered. Ruby smiled. "You're so helpful, thank you." Ruby said nicely.

Ashton was so excited! She had never had any friends before, let alone ones that wanted to meet her cat mom. She said,"It's only a mile of two down the road." So she led the way.

"Good, I really don't want to be gone long, I'd be worried about the pups." Ruby said. "I know Mary is responsiable and good with pups but I just worry."
 
Misty sat beside the cat door,in the back of the house. She was so worried, each night Ashton came back later and later. She couldn't take the night, that she never came back. No! She wouldn't think of that. Not now,not ever! She had been so distant, here lately. When she asked her what was wrong, she'd insist nothing, that she was fine. But a mother knows, that she was hiding something. She heard a sound. She held her breath and waited.
That's when she saw her. But it wasn't just her, there were others with her.

Ruby trotted out of the woods to the house. "Oh, perhaps I went to fast." Ruby said.
 
Misty meet her at the steps,"There you are sweet girl, you had me worried. Who is with you?" She asked as she looked past Ashton.

"Oh, mom I'm so sorry, but time slipped away, the foxes back there are my friends. They wanted to me my mom."

Misty looked back at Ashton then, said, "You want them to meet me? I always thought you were ashamed that I was a cat?" Misty sat a little taller and smiled. I would be greatly honored to meet them."
