Rieve went out into the the forest to hunt. She quietly approached a possum and pounced on it. She shook it vigorously to end it's life. Then headed back to the cave with it. She was pleased with her kill. She hopped that the red fox was too. She came back to the cave and saw she was still sleeping, so she put the possum down by her. Rieve then went to the mouth of the cave and sat to look out at the view.

Eliza slept for a while and than she woke up she smiled at Rieve and started to eat the possum

Rieve smiled back at her, then said, "Thank you for sharing your friendship and home with me. This is such a beautiful place, you are fortunate to have it" Rieve laid down to relax a little.

Rieve was starting to get thirsty again, that meant going to the river and overcoming her fear of it. "I'll be right back, I'm going to get a drink. Hopefully" she said, but whispered the last word.

Eliza Smiled and stood up to go with her

Delighted that she was coming, seemed to take some of her fear away. Rieve said," My last drink about did me in. I don't want a repeat of that!" She laughed nervously.

They came up to the river, Rieve had a small amount of panic. But her thirst won, so she went slowly to the water. Satisfied that it didn't have any rocks, she figured this was a safe enough spot. She lowered her head to the water. She gently lapped at the cold water. It tasted so refreshing.
