Rieve took one last look around and crawled into the den as well. She snuggled up next to him. She was pretty tired tonight. She fell asleep fast.

Gideon followed the strangers for awhile. It was getting dark, so he needed to head to his den for the night. He thought he had slipped away unnoticed, but unfortunately in his hasty retreat, he hadn't noticed that the wind had shifted. Blowing his scent to them.

Arran sniffed the air. Then smiled at Andorra. " Male fox, coming from back that way. Isn't that what we're looking for?"

Andorra looked in the direction they had come. She breathed deep. Yep, a mature male fox. She grinned back at Arran. "Lets go see if he's friendly, shall we?"

That's when the tables got turned on Gideon.

Gideon was clueless. He caught a squirrel and headed home to his den for the night.
