My neighbor heard my roosters screaming and went over, found a fox in my shed where I keep the babies. Now I keep door shut always, but looking out my window yesterday daylight hours, there he was walking around one of my coops. I've got a great set up, and the younger ones are covered with wire, but my 3 other coops have good strong fencing but only about 5 1/2 feet high and nothing covering them. Is there something else I should be doing to protect them? Do fox jump :) sorry but Im not that up on this kind of thing! Thx for any help........

Yes, foxes can get up a fence that high. We have had the same problems recently, added a few hot wires to my coop and run and so far no more problems. =) I only let them out now while supervised because we haven't managed to trap Ms. Fox. =(

Thank you. I haven't let them free range either since then because Im so afraid he is lurking somewhere. I'll look into elec fence? I've gotta do something :)

Trap and get rid of it.Sure there will be more.Just trap and get rid of those too. I love my trap.Got 50+ animals with it since last summer.

what kind of traps do you use and how do they work. I've lost 3-4 chickens so far this summer to a fox. We have seen him twice, but never have the gun handy. Just lost 2 this past weekend when we were out of town.

Oh ok! I was told by someone that Fox are too smart to get caught in the Have a Heart Traps? If thats not true, tell me!!!! I'll do that......I haven't seen him in a few days but have a feeling he's still around...........
