Fox in the coop!!!

what bait should i use to trap it
Responses need to be tailored to your situation.

If you can, then pen up remaining birds. If you have a firearm and it is appropriate for your location and you have the time, then setup to shoot the fox when it comes back. In my experience the Red Fox is consistent and punctual with its visits so being ready may not be all that difficult unless you are at work when fox visits. Look into building a coop with run for these situations and consider putting up an electrified perimeter of some sort.

Resources you have are not known to most so that can greatly impact your options for preventing subsequent losses.

i dont want to kill it because I think it has babys. but if i can find the den then i could take the babys to an animal rehabilitation center. any ideas on how to find the den?

Taking young ones to a rehaber just to control your losses is not a good discussion. Better to look into how you can simply keep them away from your birds.

Den could be a couple miles away. I would ignore issue of young as it normal for both parents to feed them, possibly with assistance from young of previous year. They are not the lone mothers they are reputed to be on this site.

You will loose more birds before you kill if that is your approach.

X2.
