Fox problem

A .22 got rid of a fox that was stalking my ducks and chickens at 8:30 in the morning. We were out feeding and watering when she came around. Hubby had seen her twice before so he was watching and when he saw her he went and got his gun. Bye bye fox.

well i havent needed to do it because mine are indoor ducks. but when they were smaller and were kind of outdoor ducks and i had 2 chickens a fox came and killed my chicken. because in the uk they are vermin and were legally allowed to kill them, so much soo that if we catch one on purpose or accedently we have to call the animal services to come put it down. when one killed my chicken i left my ducks and remaining chicken outdoor one night alerted the neighbour that they might here loud sounds and sat in the window with a cross bow. got rid of 16 foxes in 2 days but my duckies chase them off anyways. but like i said it isnt a rule because a hungry fox or a fox with babies will hunt in the day. especially the hungry braver ones. just most of them are nocturnal naturally but they are smart horrible critters.

Wow 16 I thought fox sort of we're loners I didn't think they would be that many together. We're they babies or something.

no i found a mother and babies and left them because im not stone hearted and couldnt do it but yh 16. they are loners but at night in london they are bloody everywhere. if you look out your window at any one time youll see at least 3. 16 was because most of them ran off

If you have a zoo in your town, you can purchase large cat urine and put that around. I haven't tried that yet but I am told it does a darned good job. I have two dogs who are outside all day with my poultry but they sleep indoors. The only problems we have had so far (knock on wood) are from rats tunnelling under and stealing eggs and (luckily) the one night I left my dogs out (one had a digestive problem and I didn't want her defecating in the house) they treed a possum. My girlfriend has lost 25 hens to foxes and hawks this year. She now has live traps all over her property as well as a shotgun by the back door. I wish you the best. It is hard to lose them. I lost one chicken last year and cried for a week.
