Foxes are getting so bold! I saw a fox walking across my patio last night. My sister, hubby and I were hanging out talking and the fox comes 4 feet under us. I know it could hear us. Then it headed toward my chicken coop!

I live in an area of 3 to 5 acre lots. A bunch of my neighbors have chickens or rabbits.

I have 2 friends that had chickens that were free ranging while they were working in the yard, and a fox came and grabbed the chickens while they were not 20 feet away. One was riding her lawn mower when it happened!

Use to humans, that is the worst kinda fox they just watch you and wait till it's a good time and by by birdy.
sounds like the whole neighboorhood needs to set traps and catch the critters.

U need to go grab some "leg hold traps". And be ready for battle. Out here in north georgia, its the only way. If u notice they are digging by the coop. Set that sucker up stick em where its diggin and tie it down to a stake. You could also use a cage trap but large cage traps are pricey.

We're in the woods and are noticing an increase in the wildlife getting close up and personal, too. LazyBee, I'm not far from you so I know you've also been experiencing this horrific heat and - until today - little rain.

DH thinks it's the need for water that's making the wildlife so unafraid. We've caught squirrels in our garden, they're stealing tomato's left and right. A red fox recently strolled through our yard until it saw my daughter and then it froze. We knew they were in the area but - as we have several large dogs - have never seen them in the yard. The deer - it's at the point where we can just walk out the door and pet them - but we DON'T!

We began putting out basins of water at the very edge of the woods in the hope that the animals will stop there for a drink and not come into the yard. Of course, the minute we do that we get an entire day of rain! Which I'm very thankful for . . .
