This is the Fox that approached me in my front yard. I never saw it in the back yard. She had apparently eaten something that was poisoned. We held an umbrella over her for an 1 1/2 til Animal Control came. She had layed there calmly. It was a scorching hot day and she didn't have any energy til the truck pulled up and she finally moved. She got up tried to get away but they were able to catch her with a loop. I was sadden to hear they didn't take her to the Wild Life Rescue. They said she had probably been poisoned and they put her down. She was beautiful. Mostly we knew of Coyotes taking our Hens on a couple occasions, but had never seen a Fox. We didn't even know they existed here. Now we know!

Beautiful animal....almost looks like a cross between a dog and a cat.

Wonder how they knew it was poisoned and not rabid or sick with some other disease?

Wow! Beautiful! I had no idea they were that big?
Me neither. I was amazed to open my garage door and see her approaching me. I thought it was a dog...I've never seen one here. She was so calm, Laid down and stayed there til Animal Control. So pretty!

I wondered too. I thought it was a dog when it was approaching me, then she laid down. She didn't have any noticeable ailments. The Animal Control said when I called in the morning that due to low funding that they couldn't take her to Wild Life Sanctuary as they just didn't have the funds to treat her. He said they had been saturated with calls from sick and deceased dogs, cats, domestic and wild animals due to people using Gopher poisons incorrectly etc., and these animals are eating the poisoned animals ones then dying from digesting. Very said! She was sooooo beautiful.
