I have two goslings and one has angel wing. I read to strap it, but also that it can be too much protein. I have let them graze in my dog's yard but I can't keep one of my dogs out there with them.
The part of the yard sans chickens and ducks is overrun with foxtail grass. DH has yet to cut it....despite my pleading. I may end up hacking away at it but for noe, can my goslings (and ducklings) eat this grass or will it harm them if they eat the seed heads, which are nice and dangerous for my dogs.....?

These geese are so sweet, they great me, talk to me, follow me (unless there is grass to be devoured and their ADHD kicks in at bedtime, dorks). All in all, I am really glad I got them.

So, foxtail grass, good, bad or indifferent ? Thanks! ;:/

Really? no one knows?

They are outside all day now....but I don't want them near the foxtails.

I wrapped her angel wing, and she just sat there...patiently...while I wrapped her wing, then wrapped around her tummy....amazing.

I don't know what foxtail grass is but if it's long and stringy I t probably isn't good for them they can get impacted the grass should be short. and good for you to get her wing wrapped. Now to keep it wrapped. they are kind of like Hudini when it comes to things like this. lol

Here in Cali, we get this grass that has wheat stalk looking tufts at the top. If one gets on your sweater, it actually worms it's way all the way through. Time lapse pics show it actually uses it's "feet" to rotate it in like a drill.
If one gets in a dogs nose, ear, eye....it can wriggle all the way to the brain and kill them. That's why I ask, no dead geese on MY watch!
Bonnie has not fussed or picked excessively at the tape. She will wear a diaper too, although she picks at the plastic adjusters.

All in all, I love my babies and I am SOOO glad I got them!
