FPC Annual Poultry Show - Morganton, NC - October 27, 2012

Does anyone know what vendors will be the, and is anyone going to sell chickens?
As far as supplies and equipment, Belle Farm will there with their trailor.

There should be alot of birds there For Sale. This is the first 'local' show and gets quite a bit of attention. If I remember what Brian said, the show will be set up in the upper building. That means most of the selling birds will be outside the fence in the parking fields.

Oh great, that sounds like a lot of fun Matt! We will Definately be attending then!!

In state, you can test at the door. They will give each bird a poke under the wing to get a drop of blood to mix with antigen. Each bird gets a metal leg band after it is tested. Testing at the door costs $1 for 1-10 birds and then $.10 per extra bird. 8 birds tested would be $1. 12 is $1.20.

Testing this way is good for 90 days.

You can have your entire flock tested at your house to get NPIP certified. To do this you need to contact the state vet to get in touch with the person that does testing in your area.

Out-of-state folks have to have their birds already tested before entering the state to be NPIP certified as well as certified AI clean.

Okay that sounds do-able.. I have another question. On some shows I have seen a rule that you have to own your bird for 6 months before you can enter. Is that the case here too? And what is the reasoning for this?

I have my NPIP testing tomorrow...I love my representative...my date for retest came up and he just called me to find out what day worked best for me...now Ive got to go round up all my guineas tonight so they can be tested too.

Sorry I cannot make this one, I will be 4000 miles away that weekend....

Oh, Gavin! We will definitely miss you and Allison! You two are always at this show and ones close by. Hope to see you two at some others!
I am guessing you all are headed across the big water for a visit to the home country?
