I have never been to a show so I had a question. How does the silent auction work?

There is a sheet of paper on the cage/item that is up for auction. You place your bid and name/number. If someone outbids you can bid again. This is NOT a blind silent auction. It ends at 1pm. Must be present to win or it goes to the next highest bidder. If no other bidders then items/birds either go back to the donator or become property of the poultry club for the next show.

If a bird is not claimed by the time break-down begins it will go home with someone. That is why the club only accepts pairs, trios, or females as donations. Don't want someone using the show to dump their extra Roosters.

I have put in a request for one of the BYC banner. If the show is in the upper(heated building) I will set up a meeting location at one of the fair shelters that are used during the Fair. Their are several permanent tables under each shelter. Most likely will be at the middle one.

If it is in the livestock building then I will set up a table in the back part.

On the table I will have sign in sheets for both BYC and NCPoultry2(yahoo) with name tags for each group for ya'll to fill out.

I am ordering some of the BYC business cards for advertising and some Bumper Stickers. The business cards are free to take, but I will need $0.25 for each BYC bumper sticker. I plan to set up a change can and hope folks will work on the honor system as far as the Bumper Stickers go.

I want to get all the BYC folks there together at 11am to get a group photo with the BYC banner.

We should be there by 11 am. May not stay any later than that but should be there at that time.

I was going to have some shirts made with my farm name but they are a lot more expensive than when I had my DD's made with her Guinea Pigs. I may just wear a name tag but if people are like me it would have to be big writing and bright enough considering all there is to see at a show.

Sounding great Matt! Good idea about the BYC NCPoultry2 table. I'm gonna take a turn at the concession area- come see me there!! Oh- turn as in serving/working...not eating...though I usually find myself doing that too! But happy to say i'm actually contributing to the food assortment with some homemade poundcake!

I was considering it, mainly just so I can have someone tell me what needs improving with some of mine.
