Frame almost completed on California coop

Thanks so much.This site has been so great for ideas and information.

I love the pictures of all the coops. So original and different-each one.
I am trying to get this coop chicken ready ASAP so I can move my 9 week old pullets in this weekend. I will post additional pics soon.

aren't you getting ahead of yourself??? LOL I think it is traditional around here to wait to start to think about coop building when you have cockerels starting to crow in cardboard boxes in your kitchen or bedroom!

All kidding aside, that coop looks awesome!

Actually, it will be fine. It's um...I want to say Douglas Fir. The roof will have some overhang and probably would be good to have little gutters if I can figure that out. I will be putting rock and paving stones around the outside so maybe I should dig a little rain trench for water to collect when It rains. If it doesn't last 10 years, I'm ok with that. Eventually I would like to put in a fancy barn here with some size for all my animals. Makes feeding time easier if they are all in one place!
