Check out the proposal for allowing backyard chickens in Franklin County on the link below! If this passes, we will be legal. How exciting.

I've talked with the project manager, Matt Brown (see his contact in formation at the bottom of the page on the attached link). Matt highly encourages anyone in favor of the zoning changes to send an email so he can share the information with the zoning committee.

Please do what you can to suppor this effort to allow backyard chickens in the Columbus, Ohio area!

Thanks

Ugh. This county is going down the drain. Why would they pass this nonsensical change when they are already overburdened with regulating the ordinances they have? Try getting FC Zoning or the Board of Health to address existing health and safety concerns. You get a message that it could take up to 90 days to investigate. This just means a ton of unanswered complaints when people can't and won't follow the rules. It takes one quick moving outbreak of chicken-borne salmonella to show that this is an extremely bad idea in the close-knit suburban confines of the county. Things were fine just the way they were. If you want chickens, live in the country.

I do live in the country Uisce -Franklin county is very large. Do some research and you will learn that thisis not a concern. Don't want backyard chickens get off the website :).
