Freaaking out! Got my first egg!

Okay, I'm like the rest of you who has been anxiously awaiting my first egg. Reading about everyone else's first egg with jealousy, hoping that the more that I read, the quicker my chickens would lay! LOL! Well, after running out to their nests every morning with baited breath, knowing today would be the day, I finally gave up. I slept in today!! My husband woke me up telling me that I was going to be very happy today and I didn't know why. Then he told me to go check on my babies and this is what I found!

Moral of the story is, IT WILL HAPPEN! It's much better in person than reading about it, too!

My white leghorns are 17 weeks and 2 days. One if my girls is si close to laying I can barely stand it! Congratulations!

Oh my goodness!! I went out to check on them and bring them a treat and TWO more chickens layed their first eggs too!!! I got 3 layers in one day! My two 18 week old White Leghorns and my 18 week old Rhode Island Red. She was acting really loving yesterday and even sat on my lap for about 30 mins last night. Then today she gave me a present!
