Freak Red Cross Roo, mis-labeled or hen that makes weird noises?

TSC is not very discriminating about how they label breeds. "Red" to them can mean production reds, red sex links, pretty much anything that's not a Cornish cross, Leghorn, or barred Rock

That is a PR cockerel. My PR hens did not develop combs until they were about 26 weeks old if memory serves. Also look at the patchy coloring of that bird. Cockerel all the way.
 
I read somewhere on this site about pure ayam cemanis having raspberry combs. And that the percentage of completely black birds is very small. I have an "expert" telling me that my birds are crossbred. (Black but dark raspberry combs). My experience with purebred animals of any sort is that there are variations. I also have some crossbred cemanis and the black goes away fast. My egg source was once removed from Greenfire Farms but reliable documentation was provided. So variations in cemanis?
