Freaking A Bit: How Often...?

Just how often during an incubator hatch do you all find yourselves in the position of wondering whether to intervene? I thought that contemplating an assist would be a rare event, but after reading several posts, I'm wondering if it's fairly common. What are the chances, in other words, that I will wonder whether to step in during my first hatch?

It is quite common to think the way you are during your first couple of hatches. Until you get a few under your belt, it will be most tempting to intervene. Everyone goes through it, but the want to help decreases over time and you start to realize that nature is taking its sweet old time.
