So I'm sitting here, minding my own business... reading and typing away on the BYC forums tonight...

Out of the corner of my eye I see my GS Sara looking at something up the stairs very intently. Her eyes are moving around and following something, and I'm figuring it's one of the cats... that is until I notice both are laying on their pillow asleep at my feet.

All the while Sara's eyes are insistent that there is something up there!

Finally I give, and I take a peak... nothing. She's totally freaking me out! Eeek!!

Just to add a little more spooky to this situation - we have a family timbering 40 acres of their land in the back of our property and they are working close to (legally) a small infant and child's tombstones.

I'm such a chicken!

Maybe a couple lights... the power company will love me tonight!

Edited to add... In all seriousness I don't think it's anything, but I find it hilarious at how quick I can creep myself out - especially while DH is working night shift. Yeesh!

I lived with a cemetary in my backyard for 10 years and when ex-dh worked nights, I could easily work myself into a frenzy. I was in my 20's then with 2 small children.

Now we live next to another cemetary and I dont think anything of it.

I worry more about the tangible things....bears, break-ins, those kinds of things...lol

I don't believe in ghosts -- I usually attribute heeby-jeebies to a projection of our own inner fears. Test out this theory -- when I am happy I never get the creepies, but when I'm feeling down, I get them more.

I'm thinking all that logging activity might've scared a mouse or something up into the safety of your walls. Had that for a few years, it was the wall directly behind the bed, very annoying night time travelling rodent. And the cat would spend so much time staring at the walls when I couldn't hear anything. Finally tore the wall apart and fixed the place it/they were coming in at.
