You could absolutely be onto something there with the heeby-jeebies more apt to get the better of me when I'm feeling down. DH has been out of town for a couple nights (due back today - yay) - so that's a definite possibility.
As for ghosts and believing... hmm... I'm going to have to say that while I don't think I've ever seen one (there might have been one time my eyes were playing tricks on me), I definitely believe they're there.
I believe in ghosts. I saw one when I was young. I havent since though.
I dont think they hang around their graves. Why would they follow their "shell" to a hole in the earth?
If I were a ghost I think I would probly stick around to what I was use to. My house, yard, etc.

You are absolutely right there aren't any ghost in a cemetery i lived by one for 12 years i found it a quiet peaceful place.
Spirits return to god but as in some cases choose to stay where they lived when they died because of a tragic event or just don't leave not wanting to let go.
Sometimes it's a imprint or a essence of who lived there before.
Spirits are real they will not harm you in fact it may be someone who loves you very much just checking in.
Isn't it a comfort to know we are loved by those that pass on and they return to see us.
We all have a guardian spirit who stays with us always to protect and guide us that doesn't mean we don't mess up we are still afforded free will.
There's a book about a barn owl that was kept as a pet (and for research on its habits) by a biologist, and it had such intense hearing that it could hear a spider walking on the inside of the wall in her house. She would find it listening intently to things and finally locate what the noise was, and over time realized it's hearing was just incredibly sharp! Maybe cats are somewhat similar.
Yeep! My cat sits and stares at various points for long, long periods of time. Gives me the willies too.
I think I saw/heard a ghost cat last night... I came into my room and in the half-light could make out a cat-sized shadow running towards my wall. I could hear tags clinking... then it disappeared. I started calling for my cat and she came running from across the house....*gulp!* Nothing more than that though... so yes, I believe. Now more than ever.
