Just to put a plug in for us guys...
When I was in my late teens my hair was long enough at one point it was well below my waist (My Mother's family is Native American and at that time I was on my heritage kick, even though in looks, I take after my Dad's side of the family). I knew I was going into the military and decided to get it cut before I went in, figured it would be less embarising to me that way. The girl that cut it suggested donating it to one of those organazations (Locks for love? I think?) anyway, they cut a huge 18" ponytail off. The girl cutting it cried.
Said she wished she had hair that thick and long. I think I've got a picture at my Mom's house somewhere of me holding it.
That was the only time I ever let it get that long. And the really funny part is almost every other guy in my family has either very thin hair or are bald as an egg.
But yes, sometimes guys do it too.
