Okay... first for me. Laid around 9pm. It has no shell. Well the hard part of it is it gone. It was warm when I picked it up. What happened? They eat a diet of whatever they forage for and egg laying feed from the farm store. My orpington was in the nest box with it, not sure if it was from her. 20180731_210424.jpg 20180731_210419.jpg 20180731_210414.jpg

Have had it happened once or twice. But, my girls were just pullets at the time and I figured it must just be because they were young. I thought as long as all of them were not doing it, it would work itself out. Threw some oyster shells out for them just to be on the safe side. I've yet to see any of them actually eat the oyster shells, but that's what lots of knowledgeable people recommend. Figured it couldn't hurt. I haven't seen any more since last year. I'm sure some of the more experienced people will chime in with a better answer.:idunno

Mine are still under a year, I was hoping it was just cause they were young. First one to do it so far. Will get oyster shells tomorrow
