This my rooster Fred. I think he is a Leghorn, but not 100% sure. The hen that came from the same group of chickes is an Easter Egger. So, who knows? But Fred has a little frost bite on his comb. I read Vaseline can be put on his comb to protect it. Does that sound right? Or should I go with something else?

I wouldn't put anything on the comb during cold weather, you risk the vaseline freezing and/or trapping moisture which would freeze the comb and cause frostbite.

The comb looks like the tips are a slightly different color, but not bad. If it is frostbite, right now it looks mild. It's not unusual for birds with large combs to get a touch of frostbite on the tips.
