free atwoods chick with neck thing.

there was a little chick in a tank all by himself..his neck is so crooked that his head looks almost upside down. his beak is also crossed and he has a mild eye infection..i can treat that no problem and hes obviously eating and drinking because hes not a newborn chick, he has some feathers. i had a chicken with a neck like this but i am wondering about the beak...anything i should look for?

I've never delt with crooked beaks, but from what I've read make sure they have a deep pan to eat from so they can scoop and eat.

eta I think the beak will need trimming later down the road as well depending on the severity, search the forum for crooked beak and you'll find a lot of info on caring for birds like with beak problems.

While I've never had a chicken with Scissor beak, as they call it, I've read that giving it a deeper feeding bowl then usual helps them out quite a bit, since they can't peck at stuff normally. IIRC mash might help too - other then that I don't know.
