Thank you! Since a stray dog came through and took out a bunch of my flock I tried to hatch some of their eggs so if I could have even 50/50 that would be much better than last years hatch rate of 90% boys.

Was finishing up chores, and fortunately looped back around to see a muscovy drake standing outside the run.

How he got out, I do not know.

My bantam Cochin hen jumped into the feeder and lays her eggs in there and then she covers them in feed so I have to dig around in the feed for 10 minutes trying to find all her eggs and just when I think I got them all I find another one

Sorry for the bad picture but it was through a window that I just realized desperately needs an outside cleaning. I looked out my window an hour ago to this. Dolly is on top of the hawk netting that is on top of an A-frame that is an old swing set. I have no clue how she got there. It is ten feet in the air. I found no holes in the netting. I got her down and clipped her wings. I hope she didn't teach anyone else her secrets.

This one had me convinced for months that she was a cockeral. I am talking red comb, rooster attitude, just all of it since a few weeks old. Yesterday I caught her running for the empty nest box first thing and after she left I got this egg. So definitely a girl. She must have understood when I labled what boys I was keeping vs culling and decided to avoid all that.

RIR went "missing" and didn't come back. Couldn't find her all day.
When we eventually did find her (was getting dark), she decided to flee and wedge herself in a tiny gap.

Somebody eventually got her, handed her to me, and she bit me pretty good.

Clearly she needed to punish someone for removing her from that gap! Makes complete sense (for a chicken).

To be fair
I momentarily wore a coat, and she saw that
so... completely justified
(I was NOT wearing a coat when she bit me. Would have reeeeeallly helped)

It was a stormy day, and nobody really left the coop. I opened it to free range so they could hide in the barn instead. How funny...
She was probably really panicked between being alone, it being stormy, seeing me in a coat- especially since it's a new one they aren't familiar with.

Awww, poor thing. I get the clothing fear. I wore different gloves once, and you’d think I was a stranger that had just walked in off the street.
