Kwhit - not sure what you are looking at but the nest boxes are 3" off the floor of the coop.

Not your coop, I was looking at the original coop plan.

We built this coop as our first coop. Just finished it about two weeks ago.
Made some changes . Made it larger( 6' x 8'), added two windows one on each side. Made door on outside full length for easier cleaning. Added a 12 x 16' run . Run walls are 18" below the ground to keep out predators.

Wish I had made a few others. Nest boxes are too high and would have made it bigger.

Started out with 4 red sexlinks hens already laying, added the 2 buff orfingtons, three barred rocks and 3 copper Marans and our New Hampshire red rooster.
