FREE chicken coop plan (nice one too) on the Purina Mills Website

For those that have built this coop or a similar one with a small, raised, treated plywood floor... what type of materials and method are you using to keep it clean? There's sweet PDZ, pine shavings, etc. mentioned in other threads but what about for this size and type of floor/coop specifically? I'd like to hear how you're maintaining and cleaning. Thanks :)
We covered our floor with linoleum. I got a 4 1/2' x 12' piece from Home Depot for about $27, which was enough to cover our 4 x 8 coop floor with a nice piece left over to put on the floor of the nesting boxes and on the poop board. I got the cheapest pattern they had, which had a square pattern on it which made it easy to see where to cut it for fit.

I'm using deep litter w/shavings for now, but think I will switch to sand eventually. They've only been in it for a week, so I shall see on the cleaning part!

Here is our coop! I really like how it turned out. And the Purina plan is nice and simple.

This was right after I installed the linoleum. I just stapled it in.

Thanks (is it Patti?). When you got your linoleum, did you get a scrap piece or did they just cut off some of a new roll?

On the deep litter vs sand or PDZ I'm in the same camp. Try both and see. I just need a floor covering like linoleum before I go to sand, I think. Your coop looks great!

Here is a picture of my first coop which I just completed. The bottom half of the wall next to the door swings up for easy access. I made it the same height as my wheel barrow for cleaning out. Indie the run area the right half of the wall (where the chicken door is) also swings open for additional easy access. I saw a lot of great designs here and just wanted to share mine.

Looks great! I'd love to see pictures of the inside.

nest boxes are set too high. We pretty much followed this plan. Now my chics are roosting in the boxes...if I could do it again I would def
set them much lower. In fact I may end up purchasing some new boxes and set them on the floor of the coop...inside.

Kwhit - not sure what you are looking at but the nest boxes are 3" off the floor of the coop.
