What about the iridescent tail feather on the first bird isn’t that an indicator that it is Male.

All my australorp hens have iridescent feathers. A lots of black feathers are iridescent. Depends on the breed

The thin shiny dark red feathers poking through near the base of the tail is more of an indicator.

Pointed saddle and shoulder feathers do not lie. The types of feathers on the first and last birds are male-specific.
