When it comes to chicken behavior I have given up on trying to figure them out. But one area that has started to really puzzle me is sleep behavior.
Try this one: I have a black sex link hen that thinks she is more like me than a chicken. She goes to bed at night in the nest box. She will get the straw just right for her body which is normal. Now comes the weird part. She will pull a pile of straw up on her right side towards the front of her body and get it just the way she wants it and then she will lay her head on it like its a pillow. She is as healthy and can be. Maybe she thinks she isn't a chicken??? That's the same way I sleep??? Chicken Behavior!!!
