I've been checking the Portland craigslist ads myself (looking for Golden Comets-hint hint-anybody?) and I saw that ad too - if I didn't already have my own homely roo, I'd take that guy in a heartbeat!

PS to onthespot: your chickens look absolutely furious! What have you been telling them?!

don't they look miffed? LOL they are new birds I had just picked up the day before and were in a less than ideal environment already, WAY overcrowed with more roos than girls. Then I crowded them to the corner of their new run to get a quick pic. They didn't like it either. I am sure it will take them some time to get over everything. That's okay, I got time, they are set up a lot better now, six girls, one immature cockerel, 20 x 8 foot run, lots of space, roosts, shade, fresh water, greens, other chickens nearby... they should come out of their funk eventuallly.
