Just before I had to send my roosters to ACC which found them a rescue to take them, 9 of my 1 year old hens went broody, one after the other, and I made the mistake of letting them sit on eggs. They hatched 52 chicks, from April 19 to June 5. Now I need to find homes for all the cute little cockerels that I cannot keep, as roosters are not allowed in NYC. I would love for them to go to good homes. I'm located in Queens, in Corona, NY.
They are all a mix of 2 breeds. Possible father: buff Polish, cream Brabanter or golden neck Old English Game bantam. Possible mother: splash or black Silkie, golden neck or mille fleur d'Uccle, buff or golden Sebright, buff or golden Easter Egger bantam, golden Brahma bantam, white crested black Polish bantam, golden neck Old English Game bantam, cream or golden Brabanter, silver spangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben, or Salmon Favorelle.
2 of the chicks look like they'll be white or buff Appenzeller Spitzhauben. I think they are cockerels, due to their red saddles, even though their Crest and the feathers look like those of my adult female Appenzeller Spitzhauben hens. I'm pretty sure the father was the buff Polish rooster. They are about 9 weeks old.
Have a few Polish looking cockerels, most still look white or light buff, a few have a few black specks, so I think the mother was either a splash Silkie or a white crested black Polish bantam.
Have 2 that appear to be Brabanter/Brahma bantam mix. 2 look like golden neck d'Uccles. 1 looks like a buff Sebright. 1 might be a buff Easter Egger. At least 3 seem to be Favorelle/Polish mix. And there are several that might be buff or golden Old English Game bantam mix. Some of the chicks have a hybrid comb and/or a mohawk.
Please message me if you're interested in any of my available cockerels.
