While doing Saint Bernard rescue, I came upon a puppy that had the dudley gene that made all of his markings (including his nose and pads) red, instead of black and instead of brown eyes, they are amber. Anyway, he was the cutest little ball of fluff I'd ever seen and I kept him. His name was "Petrie". Cute name. But, it didn't really fit him. He was goofy and had one heck of a sense of humor. He also was a little....um...slow about certain things. Well, we renamed him "Chester." He has been SUCH a Chester over the years! I could NEVER imagine him being named anything else. He's almost 10 now and we still call him "Little Chester".
On the other hand, I took in an adult Saint name, of course, Beethovan. We've called him "Bay" for short. But, I can't ever seem to grab his name fast when I call him. I even call him the name of one of our beloved deceased Saints before I come up with "Bay" and he's been with us for THREE years. I cannot/could not change his name significantly because he DOES know his name.
So, I'm glad they are taking their time to find a unique, fitting name for the puppy.....but, still, I want to KNOW what they choose! LOL. I have to run out and I know I am going to miss the announcement. ha ha ha.
