FREE Faverolle Chicks - Vermont

I understand the trial. If you don't have the means or heart to dispatch unwanted animals- which I'll admit, I probably don't either- then you're forced to try to rehome them, and rehoming roosters in no easy task.

I am interested in Salmon Favarolles roosters, however, now is a bad time for me also when my main breeding focus is the Sumatras and my birds are still too young to determine breeding quality.

Here's what's going on...

My company is trying to restructure, and if it can't, it's going to close its doors. In either case, I'm likely out of a job. Additionally, my father, whom I am the primary caretaker for, was recently diagnosed with colon cancer.

So at this point, given the demands on my time and wallet, investing in another coop to house birds that provide virtually nothing in return, is not a sound investment.

Look, I love these guys and I'm doing what I can to save as many of them as I can. But ultimately, I am left with two choices: rehome or slaughter.

They are in no immediate danger of slaughter, but it will have to be done before the snow falls in October.

I would gladly take them if I wasn't so far.

Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. It's an unfortunate situation. I have hope that they'll find good homes. I just have to keep asking.
