Hi BYC friends.
I've been gone from here a while. I had 3 hens. 1 died of heat this summer. My beautiful Dominque was just murdered by something, I just found her dead by a torn fence.
I have 1 hen left, she's a red sex link. Lays 5-6 eggs/ week in season. She is all alone and needs a flock. I will deliver her to a good home in SE PA or NJ. I cannot stomach losing her this harshly. Please anyone interested?
She originally came from cackle hatchery may 2023. GOLDIE IS A SWEET GIRL. SO FRIENDLY

Thank you so much. I didn't know this was there. Currently she is living in ny laundry room. She was pretty shocked yesterday. She's eating & drinking now. Took her out side for supervised time. I feel so bad for her being the sole hen survivor.
You’re so welcome. I hope Goldie finds a good home. A bit of Gatorade or sugar water can help her through shock if needed, although she sounds like she is okay now.

Sometimes a mirror or tablet with chickens playing on it can offer company/comfort for a lone chicken until she can get another flock.

Unfortunately no. Im in one of the only boroughs that doesnt allow them. My neighbors were fine because they got eggs. So unfortunately I dont even have a local shelter that could take her, not that I would take her there. Rather her lonely with me than change of euthanasia. But thanks for being supportive. I have checked Facebook, Im not sure what else to do.
Oh shoot. Have you thought about beefing up your run and security and adding more chickens? I know the idea might be overwhelming at first and I can’t imagine your heartache, but is there anyway you’d consider?

I absolutely would if I didnt have to get a permit & survey to replace the fence and somehow hide my coops from inspectors, No farm or foul animals allowed. When I move, I'm starting up again. Chickens bring me joy, I truly like them.
