RChicks, I don't know the answer to your question, but ours has been fine so far in our little brooder, doesn't seem restless or anything, but he is still just a baby so maybe they are different when they get older.

Seems like a lot of people have gotten SSH chicks as their rares from MM over the last few months. They must just have a bunch of extras with every hatch.

We have theory about that. We think they try to keep bantams with bantams and so on if they can and we got all wyandottes(which are bantams) and they gave us the SSH. Firedove, you got all wyandottes, too, right?
I would love it if my SSH was a pullet. Then I might be able to get that roo and be able breed SSH like I want to. I also want to breed BLR though. I'll need to get a bator if I do that. And another coop.

yeah, like that's gonna happen, right? *sigh* A girl can dream... Oh and that SSH HATES to be touched. He sqawks up a storm and flaps his wings trying to get away. :-(
