I haven't been on the board long, but I'm hoping someone can help me out. My mother has a Quaker Parrot, Polly, that needs to find a new home. Long story short, Mom's finishing up six months of chemo for breast cancer. She still has to get through mastectomy and radiation, but then I'm confident she will have kicked cancer in the pants. Due to financial reasons she has had to move in with my sister and the bird can't come. To be honest this bird has some issues, she has allergies which results in feather picking (it always clears right up with meds) and she really is not terribly friendly. I guess I hoping someone here has experience with this kind of bird and is willing to take in a "rehab" case. Mom has taken her to vet regularly for routine care and otherwise Polly is very healthy. She does come with a very nice cage and whatever other supplies Mom has on hand. I'm going up there tomorrow, so I will get a picture of Polly and her cage. Mom lives in Springfield, OH and I'm on Athens, so I'm sure I could work out some kind of drop off for someone in either of those areas, or anywhere in between. Thanks for looking!

Really wish you were closer than 8 hrs. we had a conure that was so sweet . he would walk around with a pacifier and cradle in our hand really thought that he was a baby would love to have another small parrot. they do take some one on one time to train though. Praises for your mother for beating the cancer.

I think we have found Polly a home:ya, so I'm going to end the listing. Thank you to everyone who sent me messages with potential homes for her or just with good wishes for my mom! It makes me feel good to know there are people out there who just genuinely want to help, it is much appreciated!

Blessed Be,
Jen
