Free prefab coop revamp help

I recently acquired a prefab coop I plan to use for 2-3 young chicks before I add them to the main flock (had a hawk I assume take 2) it’s about 2ftx2ft coop area. When I got it the top was rotted as well as the nesting box top and bottom. I assume a sloped roof would be best but is it necessary for such a small coop? I have some of the plastic roofing but need to buy more so what is a good hang over length on both front/back and sides? Adding a hardware cloth curtain but what’s an appropriate length? I already added hardware cloth to run roof. Also part of the initial hardware cloth is bubbled and I can’t get it straight, should I just hardware cloth over or cut that area out? What would look better? What would be a good material for the bottom of the nesting box? I put some thick particle board down in there because I had some at home already. The whole thing is pretty unsturdy. Also for better ventilation I want to remove plastic from the window part and add hardware cloth. The latches seem pretty secure. The ramp was rotted out but that’s an easy fix.. Anything else to look out for? I posted a pic of the material I’m thinking for the roof

Well, for starters, if you're just using it as a grow out coop, you probably can do away with the nest box, and just screw a piece of plywood over the hole. That might be a good place to add ventilation too, as long as the chicks are not sitting in a draft when on the roost.Those prefab coops only use small staples to hold the hardware cloth, you would do well to reinforce that with screws and fender washers over the staples. If you can't get the one area of hardware cloth to go back in place, I'd just replace it, You don't want to try to patch it. It needs to be taut to prevent animals getting a good grip.I'm not familiar with the material for the roof, so can't comment there. The usual recommendation for a skirt is 12 to 24 inches. Sliding latches are easy for raccoons to open, I would add a safety hatch and lock or carabiner.
