Free pumpkins for chooks (and their people)

DANG IT!!! Why didn't you people tell me this sooner!?!?

Next year we need to get the notice out a few days before Halloween... tell all the friends / neighbors "Save your pumpkin guts and shells for my chooks!"

And for Nifty: go to your local produce stand or grocery store. I noticed that my local Albertson's had already cleared out the pumpkin display to make room for (NNNOOOOOO!!) Christmas decorations. The store may be willing to give you some pumpkins.

Or you could dumpster dive and just take them.

For some reason, all the grocery stores and farm stands around here are out of full-sized pumpkins. We couldn't find any for jack o'lanterns before Hallowe'en. We ended up getting the largest pie pumpkins we could find. The girls have already devoured the guts.

No freebies for us...
