Free range? So much poop!

Do you have safety netting on the top? Sounds like a nice space.
i don’t. it’s under heavy tree cover which provides protection but also makes putting up any sort of netting really difficult.

if i end up with any hawk issues, i might tie off some twine as a deterrent.

then again, i really don’t want an eyesore on my property

We had the same problem. Not only poop everywhere but once the spring rains started they completely denuded our lawn, they were pretty sure the begonias in the pots were wasteful and tore them out so they could sit on pots. The poop on patio was gross even though I picked up daily. I finally bought some movable fencing from Omlet and fenced off the area I didn’t want them in. They still have a large area to forage. My dogs usually push under the fence, but it does contain the girls, unless the dogs push under the gate and the bottom part opens. The girls are always on alert for that so they can assault the yard again.

I should've said hipster, sorry :D
This former hippie thinks yer first response was just fine!

I have the omlet cube with 6ft run that is attached to a 20 by 20 carport that we bought at home depot and turned it into a fully enclosed run for them had 5 hens till last month now have 4 I know what you mean with the poop I have 3 acres that they free roam few hours a day yet they still love to poop all over my front porch and back patio they even made themselves a big dust bath in my front garden bed until my husband made them a very big one under our deck we ended up getting some garden fencing from tractor supply and made special zones for them to stop them from pooping in the areas we use for family time outside. Its winter now so we are back to letting them free roam wherever they want then in spring we will zone off areas again with the garden fencing

I also have 5 chickens. I have 10x 6 run. I only free range them on weekend or 2 days I am working from home for couple hours. So far, they don't venture off too far from the coop but I only have them like 3 weeks now. so that might change... hopefully not.. I do have a pool and patio area and I do not want them to come there and poop all over...

We have 12 chickens and 5 ducks who free range from dawn to dusk. I probably have more free time than most but every morning I wander the yard with a coffee and a trigger nozzle hose and blast poo into the lawn. Morning dew softens it so it doesn’t take much water to vanish. Keeps the smell down but mostly I do it to keep the flies down. I actually find it relaxing?! Coop poo cleanup, not relaxing.
