I have 6 girls that the run of my yard all day. big yard 2 mulch pile large yard with a lot of goodies. bed time they come back to there run and coop. then they start eating there purnia laying pellets. only 3 of them just started laying. why do they act like they never ate all day. ive watched them and they are always digging and eating. why why

Some of mine do the same. When they are out free ranging- they actually spend a lot of time looking, scratching, and eat what they want to. While mine eat WAY less feed in summer time than when they can't get outside in winter- they still always fill up on feed before sitting on their roost.

sorry for the long come back. what you said makes great sense. still waiting for the final three to start giving up there prize

thanks again
