Looking at thread over and over. Free range to me means a certain minimum percentage of caloric intake must come from natural productivity of ground they they have access to. Caloric intake can very from 0 to 100%. The lower end of range realized with birds in areas where edible vegetation is denuded or birds of breed that target only feeders. The threshhold for free range then will probably need to be arbitrary. I target 33% but have now way of knowing if that is realized and actual can very greatly as a function of forage quality, season, weather, and density of birds.
