From 9am until they put themselves to bed...which is about 4:30 this time of year.

During the growing season, all day until they choose to go in at dusk.

During the fall red-tailed hawk migration when there are more predators, after the leaves have all dropped so they have only limited cover, usually only an hour before dusk.

During heavy snow season when it's too deep to walk in, not at all.
