Aww so sorry you lost them

I am lucky and have only had one close call back in 2011 but the dogs and I were in the area when it happened and that was that, i sense added 3 more dogs as my others are and were getting older and i have no losses but if i did not make rounds and make my presents known threw out the day.
I am sure i would also have losses and alot of them from what i have captured on the trail cam at night and seen in the distance during the daytime .

These photos are taken by a new pond we dug , this is 100 yards from where the birds roost at night.

That is Tucker, he is a wonderful flock dog, this year we had 2 owl strikes on the pond, one goose and one duck, , that dog was out by the pond guarding those injured birds both times till i got out there, i had to euthanize the goose but the duck survived and is recovering.

you can see the duck in the high grass right above tuckers head to the left.

You're extremely lucky! Our pyr has great guard instincts but unfortunately he doesn't see the poultry as "his". He's claimed the neighbors cows as his and he'll eat the poultry if he gets the chance. So we bought an akbash and raised him with the poultry. He's totally unfazed by them. Absolutely no interest in chasing or eating. Unfortunately he has no interest in guarding either. He's let predators range about around the poultry and simply wags his tail at them. It seems to me that finding a good poultry guard is harder than it looks!

How old is your Pyrenees?
I have 3 full blooded and one Anatolin/Pyrenees cross here and even the youngest Pyrenees is turning out to be a great guarding but she has great teachers.

Annie is the newest addition

Annie and the lead dog Marty.

Elia and Annie

Annie

Marty, i love this dog so much, she is a flock guardian in every way.

Elia use to think everything was food when i got him, heck he and his litter mates were eating a hen that flew in their kennel when i went to pick him up, but he turned out to be a great guardian.

Elia now

Annie is Marty's shadow

This is a Coydog, while he isn't much of a guardian he is great at flushing wild critters when making rounds and he can catch a fox.
