Free-Ranging Quail?

Don't do it, unless you are trying to feed your neighborhood predators. Even black crows and stellar jays will show up to kill them (Crows and ravens will kill and eat any bird smaller than them that they are able to). Coturnix have almost no wild instincts,so they won't even try to escape predators. If they get out in my yard my dog just picks them up and brings them back to me, doesn't even have to chase them.
