20eas12, I might try that idea!!! Thanks for the suggestion. This dog, Judy, is a Treeing Walker Coonhound. She chases our cats until she has them cornered, and then she doesn't bite or anything, but just stands there barking her head of. Judy is not quite 2 years old, she showed up at our house in May 2013 after someone dumped her. She's highly train-able, but has horrible manners. Doesn't understand what it means when our other dogs growl at her...will that somehow affect how she would do with free-range chickens? (Her poor manners, I mean) Maybe I can teach her to leave the birds alone...thanks for the suggestions!!!
