I'm also not sure why the feathering on the back of his neck fans out like that.

His earlobe are those bluish white things. His actual ear is the black circle. I still think he's a Minorca. That's the closest I've seen so far. When my chickens get picked up they fan out their neck feathers too. I think its a fear thing.A few closeups of Strider. You're welcome! @Gray Farms will know what he (or she) is.All very informative! Thank you so much for your help. I agree—I have not found any chicken breed quite as close as a Minorca from my own searches, and I know McMurray has them. Only time will tell us for sure.
