So I have a few extra roosters...since I can't "do the deed," I offer them on Craigslist.

So...I put a few out there the other day, and got this response:

Subject: Rooster-Why are you getting rid of Him???

Do you still have him and why don't you want him if he lays so many eggs and is a nice guy?

This is, far and away, the most.....um......er.......hmm.......interesting response I've EVER gotten.

To further make it even more interesting, I never said a WORD about his personality, nor did I mention eggs. SERIOUSLY?

I replied:

Um......this is a rooster (a male) - they do not lay eggs. He's just an extra rooster that I don't need for breeding, so I offered him on Craigslist.

I can't type what I WANTED to reply.

Glad that it doesn't only happen here in Australia. I had an ad once for giveaway bantam roosters as I had to many. A lady rings and says hubby will come this afternoon and pick them all up. I had 4 to giveaway. She then asks how many eggs they are laying. I said they are roosters they don't lay eggs. The phone went suddenly quiet and she hung up. I couldn't stop laughing for agers. Not sure if she read the add wrong or didn't know rooster were male chickens.

Incredible, right? I printed up the e-mail and will save it to get giggles in the future. Wonder if she'll respond?
