Freecycle Scam!

Cool, just sell the duck for $200.00 shipping at the local airport!

BTW- its not that the police are sitting around. Asking for money is not a crime, collecting money and not producing the merchandise is a crime. If the police could pursue or arrest you becuase you MIGHT commit a crime, we would all be in trouble.

This is the same person- I am positive. I got it last week and told her that she was the subject of much entertainment on an internet list. For some odd reason, she never replied. I hadn't thought to post it here, but since I am sure she has forgotten who she sent these to, anyone else is welcome to pick up where we left off;)

Subject: HI Dear Beloved Friend - MARLEEN THE TINY YORKIE-

Dear Beloved Friend,
Yes,we have a female 12weeks old tiny yorkie to re-home due to the fact that the family just relocate to Haskell,Arkansas to monitor our business. She's loving, elegant, adorable and she is house broken, she easily gets along with kids and other pets and she ain't bite. She prefer dry food and she sleeps on the mat.

We only need a good home for her where we could be rest assured that she would be treated like a princess and with someone who could always update us on her well-being with pictures.she would be coming in her crate, paperworks, toys and photo album and she is extremely gorgeous but you gonna assure us that Marleen will be well taken care of.,You can forward your name, address or nearest airport and phone number where you would love to receive her maybe I could visit the international airport Arkansas here today to inquire on how to get her to you.EMAIL ME : [email protected]
Angela.

Has anyone ever signed up at Petfinder.com? We have a rescued (giant!) lab that wants to eat my chickens. I posted an ad that he's available for adoption to someone with no other pets besides dogs. Within a few days I was getting a bunch of emails in broken english saying they wanted the "pet" and would wire funds and all that crap.
Sounds like the CL thing is very similar. Just like those inheritence scams from Africa.

Too funny, English Chick! I wonder if she could keep track of all her answers if everyone sends her a reply at once. Maybe everyone could ask a question requiring a complicated explanation.

babymakes5, I'm sorry that you're going through all this for nothing. Because of your being overly suspicious, you have already waited too long to get the Yorkie. I met Ellen at the airport and she gave the pup to me, free and gratis. She was so nice, ans it was evident that she was very wealthy and didn't need money, just a good home for the dog. I have fallen in love with the pup, but have a problem. Anne doesn't want it in the house (or me for that matter), and it was too small to be kept on a chain in our back yard that wasn't fenced. I've already spent $500 on vet bills, toys, and other necessities for this pup. If you would like to reimburse me for my-out-of-pocket expenses plus $200 for shipping, I'll send you the pup.
BTW, send your payment in a plain envelope... cash only please. My wanting cash only isn't because I don't trust you, it's just that Anne kicked me out for having spent so much on a pup, so I am now homeless with no address but have the pup with me (It's as hungry as I am), and no bank would ever cash a check for someone in my dire situation. Let me know your decision, and I'll send you my P.O. Box number.

Just read this entire threat. Great reading. Sorry it didn't end well for you--either a puppy or a story to tell of police and arrests and all.
My boss had a similar situation with people offering a free cruise. Something about the cruise was free but she had to send money for airfare. She told them she owned homes here and near where the cruise left from. She told them she spent the winter months living there and could just arrive a few weeks earlier than originally planned. They had all sorts of bull @#$%^ excuses and reasons for needing money from her. She played them along for nearly a week before letting them know she was aware of their scam attempt.
It is a real shame that there are people out there who go this, basically, for a living. Imagine what they could accomplish if they focused that same energy and devotion on a real job.
