Freedom Rangers

They don't. Somewhat like the Cornish X and the commercial hybrid laying hens they have used selective breeding to develop a chicken good for meat but slower to develop than the Cornish X. They are not a cross of certain breeds and they are not a breed. They are a type of chicken developed by selective breeding.

Thanks. I believe they do. Not concerned with APA semantics. I previously read literature regarding the four breeds that are used by hatcheries to breed them, but I don't recall what they are. Thanks for trying to help.

Is this what you’re looking for ? Two breeds to use to make meat birds ??View attachment 1458038
No, but thank you. One source said four birds and others say two breeds make the freedom ranger. It's hatchery close hold information, but I read it before. Whether that information was accurate or not is another story. My wife seen it too, but neither of us remember where it was - sigh....still looking. Thanks.

What breeds do hatcheries use to breed the Freedom Ranger? Thanks!

I doubt you can get an honest answer from the hatcheries that produce any of the "ranger" breeds, because they are cross-bred bird that anyone with some time and effort copy if the recipe for their "secret sauce" is ever let out of the bag... maybe in another 10-20 years after they patent the dna or breed it so different that it would take several years to duplicate they will let it out,
