Mrs. Mucket :

OK the FAQ told me how to post pics. Here are my FRs:

Just a few days old, this one shows the others how to dive in for dinner.

Here they are at two weeks: ring around the feeder (time to add a second feeder).

Awesome pics!

I wanted to keep my FR pictures and comments in the Freedom area..Hoping this is it? anywho...heres one of my 26 born 4 weeks ago today, well tommorow actually..Put them outside last night in their coop..had to go catch them one by one so I could show them the little wire cage I covered with a tarp and blanket so they would know where to sleep. This was no easy task since I tried very hard this time around to not handle and bond with them, so they are quite frightful! They all survived the night..39d last night...74d today..Saw them in and out of their cage throughout the day, so I guess they know where they need to go come sunset now..I am still amazed how big they are for 4 weeks..I put my heritage meat birds out at 8 weeks, and I think these are bigger..

I found the first egg at 15 weeks, it was tiny. That was a couple months ago. The eggs are still on the small side. I haven't been keeping track of how many eggs they are laying, and they are still in with my regular layers so I couldn't be sure anyway, but I'd guess they are laying 3-4 eggs per week.

I will have fertile Ranger x Ranger eggs in about a month or so. will be hatching F2s as well.

I selected back my top gainers from this spring to start my own breeding project....we will see how it goes
